Yesterday, I checked out a book called In Quiet Desperation. It is one of the most wonderful books I've ever read...although I'm not finished with it. It is about understanding the challenge of same-gender attraction. The authors' son, Stuart, who was suffering through that very challenge, was the main focus in part one. The family found his secret when he was about 30 yrs. old, and he had been struggling with it since he was 7. Marilyn Matis recounts his story into her own words as she struggles with her son. This book, although just beginning, had already given valuable lessons about life...and the challenge of same-gender attraction.

Mrs. Bernritter's Death

Hey, everyone. My creative writing teacher, Mrs. Stephanie Bernritter, has recently went into a hospital for treatment on her leukemia. On Wednesday, November 28, she peacefully passed away. When I heard it on TV West at West High, I was devastated. She was a marvelous teacher, and a wonderful person. She showed everyone how to love; she loved students and wanted the best for everyone. She was a positive person, filled with life. I love her so much and hope that her family would be fine. It must be really hard to deal with the death of a close friend. That is something I never want to experience but probably will. Thank you all for your suppo
